Ford has expanded its ownership program in New Zealand, extending roadside assistance coverage from three years to five years and introducing new pre-paid service plans for the updated Ranger and Everest.

The changes form part of what Ford calls a broader 'Servitization' strategy, aimed at bundling vehicle ownership costs and support services into a more predictable package.

From June 1, 2026, all new Ford vehicles sold in New Zealand receive five years of roadside assistance coverage as standard, bringing it into line with the brand's existing five-year factory warranty.

Ford has also introduced pre-paid service plans for MY26.5 Ranger and Everest models, allowing buyers to lock in scheduled servicing costs for up to four services over five years or 60,000km. At launch, each scheduled service is priced at $499.

According to Ford, the plans are designed to shield owners from future increases in servicing costs while providing greater certainty around ongoing vehicle expenses.

"At Ford, we are a customer-obsessed brand, which means we think far beyond the initial sale; our focus is on the entire journey our customers take with us," said Ford New Zealand managing director Annaliese Atina.

"We want to take the stress and unpredictability out of ownership so customers can focus on what matters most – whether that's running a business, getting the kids safely to school, or heading off for a weekend getaway."

Ford New Zealand customer service director Nina Elson said the new initiatives build on the company's existing ownership package.

"The introduction of Pre-Paid Service Plans and extended Roadside Assistance represents a critical step forward in our 'Servitization' strategy," she said.

"By wrapping these offerings around our existing five-year warranty and extensive accessories portfolio, we are creating a fully integrated, customer-first ecosystem."

Ford says the expanded ownership offering also encompasses its range of Genuine Ford Accessories and Ford Licensed Accessories, which can be covered by the vehicle warranty when fitted through authorised dealers.

The carmaker notes Genuine Ford Accessories are designed and developed by Ford, while Ford Licensed Accessories comprise approved third-party products from suppliers including ARB.

When fitted before delivery, accessories are covered by a five-year/150,000km warranty on Ranger and Transit models, or a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty on passenger vehicles.

The extended roadside assistance program is available now for all new Ford vehicles purchased from June 1, 2026, while the new pre-paid service plans are available for MY26.5 Ranger and Everest models through participating Ford dealerships.
