The 2026 MG ZS Vibe has returned to New Zealand as the most affordable model in MG’s compact SUV lineup, marking a new lower-cost entry point into the increasingly crowded small SUV segment.
Priced from $25,990 plus on-road costs, the naturally aspirated Vibe sits beneath the turbocharged petrol and hybrid variants in the ZS range, broadening the SUV's value-focused model range.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 81kW of power and 140Nm of torque. Rather than focusing on outright performance, MG says the Vibe has been designed around everyday practicality, connectivity, and safety.

The reintroduction of the Vibe also brings changes to in the ZS lineup, with the existing 1.5-litre turbocharged ZS Vibe now renamed Excite Turbo.
MG Motor New Zealand country business manager Dean Sheed said the variant continues to play an important role in the brand’s local strategy.
“MG ZS Vibe is about making life simple,” said Mr Sheed. “It’s a car designed for people who want great value, modern technology and 5-star safety peace of mind, without overcomplicating things.
“The return of ZS Vibe strengthens our promise of offering accessible mobility for Kiwis.”

Despite its entry-level positioning, MG has fitted the ZS Vibe with a healthy amount of standard equipment.
Inside, there’s a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, while MG Pilot driver-assistance technology is also standard.
Safety features include autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a reverse camera, and a far-side airbag.
Exterior highlights include 16-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, and LED daytime running lights.

Like other new MG models sold locally, the ZS Vibe is covered by the brand’s 10-year warranty when serviced through MG’s authorised dealer network.
The 2026 MG ZS Vibe is on sale in New Zealand now from $25,990 plus on-road costs.
