Volvo has confirmed New Zealand pricing and specifications for its all-new EX60 electric SUV ahead of customer deliveries beginning in November 2026.
The Swedish brand's new mid-size EV will launch in two variants, with the rear-wheel drive EX60 Ultra P6 priced from $116,990 plus on-road costs, while the dual-motor all-wheel drive EX60 Ultra P10 starts at $125,990.
Positioned as the electric counterpart to Volvo's best-selling XC60, the EX60 is the first model built on the brand's new SPA3 electric vehicle architecture and introduces a suite of next-generation battery, charging and manufacturing technologies.

Volvo Cars New Zealand says the EX60 has been priced to match the XC60 plug-in hybrid, with the entry-level Ultra P6 carrying the same $116,990 sticker price as its electrified SUV sibling.
The EX60 arrives as Volvo looks to challenge premium electric SUV rivals including the next-generation BMW iX3 and Audi Q6 e-tron, Porsche Macan and Polestar 3.
On paper, the EX60 Ultra P10's 660km WLTP range edges out the 650km claimed for the new BMW iX3 50 xDrive, although BMW's Neue Klasse platform offers a higher peak charging rate of up to 400kW and the ability to add up to 350km of range in 10 minutes. The BMW also boasts up to 800km of WLTP range.

At launch, the EX60 becomes Volvo's longest-range production EV.
The rear-drive Ultra P6 is powered by a single electric motor producing 275kW and 480Nm, enabling a claimed 0-100km/h sprint in 5.9 seconds. It uses an 83kWh battery and offers a WLTP driving range of up to 611km.
Stepping up to the Ultra P10 brings dual-motor all-wheel drive, with outputs increasing to 375kW and 710Nm. The larger 95kWh battery boosts claimed range to 660km while reducing the 0-100km/h time to 4.6 seconds.
A flagship EX60 P12 Performance variant is also confirmed for New Zealand in the second half of 2027. It will deliver 500kW and 790Nm, sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds, and offer a claimed WLTP range of up to 810km thanks to a 117kWh battery.

Charging performance is a key focus for the EX60, which combines cell-to-body battery construction with an 800-volt electrical architecture.
Volvo claims the SUV can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 16 minutes when connected to a 350kW DC fast charger, adding up to 315km of driving range in just 10 minutes.
New Zealand buyers will initially be offered only the flagship Ultra trim level, which includes a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos, an electrochromic panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera system.
The EX60 is also the first Volvo to launch with Google Gemini-powered conversational AI, alongside Google built-in services and over-the-air software updates.

Sustainable interior materials include bio-attributed Nordico upholstery, chrome-free Nappa leather certified by the Leather Working Group, and a tailored wool blend made from 30 per cent wool and 70 per cent recycled polyester.
Practicality remains a focus, with the rear-drive P6 rated to tow up to 2000kg, while the dual-motor P10 and forthcoming P12 increase towing capacity to 2400kg.
"The EX60 delivers on the true meaning of 'Freedom to move' for a fully electric era," said Volvo Cars New Zealand brand manager Daile Stephens.
"It overcomes the three main reasons people hesitate to go all electric, range, charging speed and price.
"EX60 matches the range of a petrol car, charges as fast as your average fuel stop and has price parity with the XC60 plug-in-hybrid."
Volvo says pre-orders for the EX60 are open now, with first customer deliveries scheduled for November 2026.
