Toyota New Zealand has introduced a new Aero Performance Package for the Toyota GR Yaris, marking the first time the hot hatch has been offered with a factory performance upgrade.

Pricing for the GR Yaris with Aero Performance Package starts from $65,990 drive-away for the six-speed manual, and $68,990 for the eight-speed automatic drive-away, a $4,000 premium over a standard GR Yaris.
Developed in-house by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing (GR) division, Toyota says the package draws heavily on motorsport testing and driver feedback, with a focus on improving aerodynamic performance, stability, and driver engagement.
The Aero Performance Package introduces six functional aerodynamic components designed to optimise airflow, including an adjustable rear spoiler, fender ducts, a front lip spoiler, rear bumper ducts, a full-floor undercover, and a bonnet bulge.

According to Toyota New Zealand chief strategic officer Andrew Davis, the upgrade reflects the GR brand’s emphasis on delivering a more connected and rewarding driving experience.
“GR has always been about how a car performs and how it makes you feel when you’re behind the wheel,” said Davis.
“Every element of this package exists for a reason, shaped by performance on the track and refined through real driver feedback.”

Toyota says the package has been developed through extensive motorsport testing, including input from GR Master Drivers and learnings from one-make racing series in Japan.
Along with aerodynamic upgrades, a new performance-focused steering wheel has been introduced across the GR Yaris range, designed to provide more direct feedback to the driver.
The GR Yaris with Aero Performance Package is now available to pre-order with limited numbers across New Zealand.
