The Skoda Peaq has been revealed as the Czech brand’s new flagship electric SUV, sitting above the Enyaq as the largest battery-electric vehicle the carmaker has produced to date.
Designed as an electric alternative to the Skoda Kodiaq, the seven-seat SUV will rival large family EVs including the Kia EV9 and Volvo EX90 when it launches in Europe in 2027.
Skoda New Zealand has yet to confirm local plans for the Peaq, though any potential launch would follow its European debut and join the Enyaq and Elroq in the brand’s growing EV lineup.
The Peaq rides on an updated version of the Volkswagen Group’s MEB architecture, shared with vehicles such as the Enyaq and Volkswagen ID.4, and will be offered globally with three powertrain options.

Opening the range is the Peaq 60, which pairs a rear-mounted electric motor producing 150kW with a 63kWh battery. Skoda claims a driving range of approximately 460km.
The rear-wheel drive Peaq 90 steps up to 210kW and a larger 91kWh battery, increasing claimed range to around 600km.
Topping the lineup is the dual-motor, all-wheel drive Peaq 90x, which produces a combined 220kW and uses the same 91kWh battery. Skoda claims it can also travel up to 600km on a charge.
All variants can reportedly charge from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 28 minutes when connected to a DC fast charger.

The production model closely follows the Vision 7S concept revealed last year and adopts Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design language.
At the front, T-shaped LED daytime running lights flank the illuminated ‘Tech Deck’ grille already seen on the smaller Enyaq and Elroq. Despite its size, Skoda says extensive aerodynamic optimisation has helped achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.25Cd.
Around the rear, a curved D-pillar incorporates raised Skoda lettering, while Sportline variants receive darker exterior trim accents.

Inside, the Peaq features a new 13.6-inch portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen running the latest Google-based software platform.
In contrast with many newer EVs, Skoda has retained physical controls for frequently used functions including climate settings, fan speed, and audio volume. Conventional steering wheel buttons also remain, replacing the touch-sensitive controls used by some rivals.
Sportline variants gain a three-spoke steering wheel and sportier interior trim finished in Suedia upholstery.
Other available features include dual wireless phone chargers with magnetic mounting, a head-up display, heated outer second-row seats, a Relax package with extending leg rests and upgraded head restraint cushions, and a Sonos premium sound system.

With a wheelbase measuring almost 3.0 metres, Skoda claims the Peaq offers generous accommodation across all three rows.
The third row is designed primarily for children and teenagers when the second-row seats are positioned fully rearward, though adults can be accommodated by adjusting seating positions throughout the cabin.
Each third-row occupant receives a USB-C charging port, cupholder, and storage tray. Boot space measures 299 litres with all seven seats in use, expanding to 935 litres in five-seat configuration.
The Peaq also features a 37-litre front storage compartment, or frunk, large enough to accommodate the removable powered luggage blind.

Pricing has yet to be announced, though overseas reports suggest the Peaq will command a sizeable premium over the Enyaq, which is currently priced from $93,000 in New Zealand.
Should Skoda New Zealand add the Peaq to its local lineup, expect pricing to start comfortably into six-figure territory, with an announcement unlikely until late 2026.
