Mercedes-Benz has expanded its New Zealand E-Class lineup with two limited-run variants, introducing darker styling themes and extra equipment for buyers wanting a more aggressive look.
The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 AMG Night Edition and Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID Dark Carbon Edition are on sale locally now, with both models receiving blacked-out exterior detailing and exclusive trim enhancements.
Pricing for the Mercedes-Benz E 300 AMG Night Edition starts at $131,900 plus on-road costs, while the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID Dark Carbon Edition is priced from $204,900, excluding on-road costs. The pair arrive in limited numbers, sitting above their respective standard counterparts in the local E-Class range.

The Mercedes-Benz E 300 AMG Night Edition adds the brand’s Night Package styling treatment, bringing dark exterior accents and black finishes across the sedan.
A key addition is the fitment of 21-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in black with a high-sheen surface – the first time wheels of this size have been offered on an E 300 in New Zealand.
Despite the visual changes, the Night Edition retains the E 300’s mild-hybrid turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol powertrain. The sedan produces 190kW of power and 400Nm of torque, with Mercedes-Benz claiming a 0-100km/h time of 6.3 seconds and combined fuel consumption of 7.2L/100km.

Inside, the E 300 Night Edition features a 14.4-inch central MBUX touchscreen with a model-specific Edition graphic, alongside a 12.3-inch passenger display.
Sport front seats with climate functionality, multiple adjustment settings, and Mercedes-Benz’s latest suite of driver assistance technology are also included.
The more performance-focused Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID Dark Carbon Edition takes a similar approach but adds further AMG-specific equipment.

Along with the AMG Night Package and Night Package II, the flagship model gains black exterior accents across the grille, badging, mirror housings, and wheels.
Its 21-inch forged AMG alloy wheels are also finished in black, while the cabin receives an AMG carbon-fibre centre console to reinforce the model’s more overtly sporting focus.
Under the bonnet sits AMG’s 3.0-litre, six-cylinder twin-turbocharged plug-in hybrid powertrain producing up to 450kW of power and 750Nm of torque.

Mercedes-AMG says the E 53 HYBRID can complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds, while also offering a claimed NEDC electric-only driving range of 101km.
Both models are available from New Zealand dealerships now.
