Suzuki New Zealand has confirmed pricing and key details for its first battery-electric vehicle, the 2026 Suzuki e Vitara, ahead of its local launch in April.

The new electric SUV will open at $54,990 plus on-road costs for a limited-time introductory offer.

The e Vitara range will include two models: a 2WD variant starting at $56,990, and AWD model from $64,990. However there is special introductory pricing for both models, $54,990 for 2WD and $62,990 for 4WD. Suzuki haven't confirmed how long this special will last. White paint comes standard, with metallic finishes costing an extra $1000.

Powering both variants is a 61kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) ‘Blade’ battery, delivering a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 426km in front-wheel drive form, or 395km for the all-wheel drive.

The single-motor front-wheel drive produces 128kW of power and 189Nm of torque, while the dual-motor all-wheel drive increases outputs to 135kW and 300Nm.

Suzuki says the e Vitara supports both AC and DC fast charging, with a 10 to 80 per cent top-up taking around 45 minutes under ideal conditions. The battery will be backed with an 8-year warranty.

Under the skin, the e Vitara rides on a Toyota-developed dedicated EV platform. The SUV measures 4275mm long, 1800mm wide, 1635mm tall and rides on a 2700mm wheelbase.

In terms of safety, the e Vitara has achieved a four-star Euro NCAP rating. Suzuki says it expects a matching result once the ANCAP publishes its local assessment.

Suzuki New Zealand is targeting 450 sales in 2026, signalling modest but confident expectations for its first electric model.

    Suzuki Australia

The new e Vitara will effectively replace the hybrid Vitara which is currently on runout sale from $37,790.

The first shipment of the e Vitara is due to arrive on March 30, with customer deliveries set to begin in April.
