Rivian is an American electric vehicle manufacturer founded in 2009 by RJ Scaringe, focusing on products designed for outdoor adventure and sustainability. The brand gained international attention with the launch of its R1T utility and R1S seven-seat SUV, which utilise a sophisticated software-defined platform and offer advanced off-road capabilities. Rivian has a history of conducting extensive winter testing in New Zealand's Southern Alps to refine its in-house Enduro drive units and battery performance.
