Nissan has a long and established history in New Zealand, having been the first Japanese brand to be assembled locally starting in 1963 at its plant in Wiri, Auckland. While local production ceased in 1998 following the abolition of import tariffs, the brand remains a major player in the market as a national sales company.

Today, Nissan offers a diverse range of vehicles including the popular Navara ute, the X-Trail and Qashqai SUVs with e-Power hybrid technology, and the 100% electric Leaf.
